The silverware may have eluded us, but the fun certainly didn’t. The Ingeneroos had a great time at the Railway Soccer Cup 2025, on what was a very warm Friday afternoon in Caringbah.

A shout out to the members of Team Ingenium who took to the pitch, including: Ben “I’ve done my calf” Crooks (can find an injury), Chris “the Man of Steel” Whetters (took more hits than a piñata at a kid’s birthday party), Ellen “the Enforcer” Eager (showed no mercy on the pitch), James “Golden Boot” Lancaster (requires no explanation), Martin “Iron Gloves” Cantwell (defended our goal admirably), Mary-Ann “The General” McLerie (kept everyone fed, watered and sunscreened), Paul “The Wall” Bourke (defended our goal with heart), Peter “Two Cannons” Whelan (displayed great skill off both left and right foot), Sarah-Ann “Pit Bull” Brennan (always tenacious and relentless) and Tim “the Smiling Assassin” Speed (strolled onto the pitch and scored from anywhere, without breaking his stride).

Congrats to Permanent Way Institution (NSW) and Rail Track Association Australia (RTAA) for hosting such a great event and supporting mental health in the rail industry.

We’re looking forward to Railway Soccer Cup 2026!!
